I’ve been making crafty things since I was a little girl, from knitting, crocheting, making clothes, embroideries, my hands were always busy.
Then, I was introduced to quilting and a door opened for me. I fell in love with it from the patchwork, the fabrics, free motion quilting with a sewing machine, to hand sewing – quilting had it all. I am passionate about making beautiful quilted items, these range from small table mats to large bed quilts and everything in between.
All the items, cushions, quilts, large or small, that I make are completed on a Janome home sewing machine and are hand finished. I use wonderful cotton fabric and a variety of threads to enhance the patchwork. The patchwork top and the backing layer are 100% cotton fabrics from a vast range available and the batting, some call it wadding, that is sandwiched between the fabric layers is 80% cotton & 20% polyester, the mixture is to give the batting strength and durability. The quilting then varies from all hand quilting, machine quilting, called free motion quilting, to a mixture of both. I try to make sure the quilting further enhances the patchwork.
